Tehran (IP) - The greatest congregation of Iranian volunteers in Iran was held in Tehran on Saturday on the occasion of the International Week of Volunteers.

Iran PressIran news: The theme of the gathering held with some delay was "Divers Volunteers, Stronger Communities." The Chairman of Tehran City Council Mahdi Chamran delivered a speech as a key gest to the event. 

Chamran highlighted the sacrifices of the volunteers in Iran in different situations from floods and earthquakes to the coronavirus pandemic and referred to a brilliant example of voluntary service in the history of Iran after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Sacred Defense.

"Although they had worked and studied for many years, they sincerely tried to be trained to defend the country, but some of them went beyond this, they had not even been trained in this field, but they went to the battle scenes in front of the enemy and did something beyond an ordinary volunteer."

He also pointed to what is going on in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria where the very volunteers are providing services to. 

As these days the territories of Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria are under the aggression of the Israeli regime, the people of Iran are mobilized to help the people in the countries in different ways such as gathering money, food, drugs, and other basic items to send to for them or helping them against the invading armed groups.
