Pakistan Honors Hafez Shirazi With Literary Tribute

A literary session was held in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on Monday evening to commemorate the birth anniversary of Khwaja Shams al-Din Hafez Shirazi, the iconic Persian poet. The event was organized by the Cultural Center of the Islamic Republic of Iran and featured participation from Persian language scholars from both Iran and Pakistan.

Shams al-Din Mohammad Tabrizi, known simply as Shams Tabrizi, was a 13th-century Persian mystic whose profound influence on the poet Jalal al-Din Mohammad Balkhi, known as Mawlana (Rumi), reshaped the course of Sufi literature and spiritual thought. His legacy is celebrated annually, particularly in Iran and Turkey, where his memory continues to inspire poetry, philosophy, and interfaith dialogue.
