In a significant diplomatic engagement, Mikhail Bogdanov, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister, met with Palestinian Ambassador Abdul Hafiz Nofal to discuss the escalating conflict in Gaza and the urgent need for a political resolution.

Iran PressEurope:  During the meeting, held in Moscow, Bogdanov emphasized Russia's readiness to continue its efforts in seeking an end to the violence and humanitarian crisis affecting the region.

According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the discussions centered on the ongoing warfare in Gaza, highlighting the dire humanitarian conditions faced by its residents.

The Russian envoy reiterated the importance of immediate humanitarian assistance to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.

Both sides expressed a mutual commitment to supporting a just resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, rooted in international law. They reaffirmed their support for establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem designated as its capital, promoting peaceful coexistence with Israel.

The meeting also addressed ongoing bilateral cooperation, with both diplomats emphasizing their dedication to strengthening the traditionally friendly relations between Russia and Palestine. This commitment includes maintaining active political dialogue to foster collaboration on various issues.
