The Foreign Minister of Germany said that the Israeli regime's deadly attack on the occupied West Bank has caused great concern to the German government.

Iran PressEurope: During the 10 days of the Israeli regime's attacks on Jenin and its hospital and camp, north of the West Bank, 22 Palestinians, including several women, were martyred.

On the sidelines of her trip to Jordan on Friday, Annalena Baerbock criticized the Israeli regime for attacking the northern West Bank and called on the Zionists to avoid an escalation of religious tensions.

She stressed that her country would confront any effort to weaken the status of holy sites in al-Quds.

The German FM called such actions as the far-right Israeli Minister of Public Security Itamar Ben-Gvir's visit to Al-Aqsa Mosque irrational which led to the intensification of the situation in occupied Palestine.

Baerbock urged the Israeli regime to stop such provocative actions, noting: "Israel is the occupying force in the West Bank and according to the Geneva Convention, it is obliged to maintain law and order instead of endangering the situation. This includes protecting people against the violent and extremist settlers' attacks."

Israeli military forces have launched a sustained aggression on the northern West Bank city of Jenin, with the aggression now entering its sixth day. The offensive, which has seen widespread destruction of infrastructure, is part of a broader campaign to suppress Palestinian resistance in the region.
