Tehran(IP)- Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy stated that the successful mission of the 86th Fleet of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army shows the technical readiness, and high experience of its staff.

Iran PressIran news: 86th flotilla of the Iranian Navy, including Dana destroyer and Makran navigator, has sailed around the world for the first time in 213 days.

After starting the mission from Bandar Abbas on September 20, 2022, the 86th flotilla of the Iranian Navy stopped at the Mumbai port, India, and after passing through the Bay of Bengal and the Strait of Malacca docked in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The flotilla continued its route towards the Java Sea and passed through the Makassar Strait and the Celebes Sea. For the first time in the history of Iran's military seafaring, it set foot in the area of the Pacific ocean and by crossing the widest part of it and passing by the islands of Micronesia and Polynesia, it moved towards the Strait of Magellan in the south of the America, and entered the South Atlantic Ocean, and then moved northward and passing the coasts of Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil, finally ended up in the port of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil which coincided with the 120th anniversary of the establishment of relations between Iran and Brazil.

Iranian fleet, after a short stop in Rio de Janeiro, crossed the Atlantic Ocean and anchored in Cape Town, South Africa, and stopped there for a few days. Then, it docked in the port of Salalah, Oman during a 40-day voyage.

Iranian Navy will move towards Iran after leaving the Salalah port to dock in Bandar Abbas after covering the remaining 2,000 kilometers.

The Commander of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Yumenov in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Admiral Shahram Irani  while admiring 86th flotilla of the Iranian Navy due to eadiness, and high experience of its staff   said that the fleet of a superpower country can circumnavigate the globe.
