Russia's special representative for West Asia and Africa discussed the developments in Gaza with the Prime Minister of Lebanon and the head of the Tayyar al Marada party in separate phone calls.

Iran PressEurope: The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, announced: "In a phone conversation with Najib Mikati, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Russia's special representative for West Asia and Africa discussed the current situation in the region focusing on the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon.

Furthermore, the statement noted that Russia has always emphasized its decisive position in supporting the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon and dismisses any armed conflict between Palestine and Israel.

In addition, Bogdanov also talked with Suleiman Frangieh, head of the Lebanese Tayyar al Marada party.

Also, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced: "In this conversation, the two sides opposed the expansion of the armed conflict to Lebanon, which could have devastating consequences for this country and the region." 219
