Iran Press/Iran news: Following a joint meeting of the economic headquarters of the government and representatives of economic activists on Sunday, Hassan Rouhani said that at today's meeting, the economic issues and the impact of corona on business conditions were discussed.
He added: "First of all, the decision was made and we emphasized that economic conditions, economic trends, people's engagement, and economic activity should be addressed, even though we are facing corona and we need to consider protocols in terms of health, but we need normal economic activity.
Rouhani stated: "Of course, some businesses have naturally faced problems and we at the meeting were looking to help those in trouble."
"Secondly, we have nothing called quarantine at all. Rumors have been spread that there are some stores and some shops quarantined in Tehran or some cities. It is no true, the president added. Neither today is quarantined, nor the days of Nowruz and all are free in their business," the president stated.
He added that government services will also reach people normally, but all our efforts are to make the economy and government services to reach people at their homes or if something is done to be within the framework of the Health Protocol.
Earlier in a separate event, the head of the Coronavirus Control Operations HQ in Tehran said Saturday that the Iranian capital is getting ready for the next phase of battling the deadly virus this week.
According to Alireza Zali, the capital is about to enter the next phase of combating COVID-19, which has infected over 3000 people in Tehran.
He said control points will be established at Tehran city entrance and exists on Sunday to monitor all vehicles coming into or leaving the city.
He added that temperature screening devices at the control points will be able to monitor 100 vehicles at the same time; He reminded that the coronavirus in Iran has grown ‘wilder’ and deadlier, adding that many people who lost their lives to the virus did not have any underlying illness.
Zali went on saying that the third phase of quarantine, which is the shutting down of all offices across the capital and keeping people at home has not been implemented yet.
He asked people to stay at home, avoid traveling and making visits during the New Year’s holidays to prevent the spread of the deadly virus. 212/ 104
