Tehran takes new preventive measures to contain coronavirus: Health official

Tehran (IP) - The head of Tehran's task force for combating the coronavirus announced a new phase of the fight against the deadly virus this week, including the closure of offices and control of all vehicles at the capital's entrance and exit points.

Iran Press/Iran news: "Many people who died in Iran had no underlying disease," Ali-Reza Zali said.

"We are now looking to see if we are facing a savage and uncontrolled virus in Iran and Italy compared to the virus in China and other parts of Europe," he stated.

The official called the corona as a "completely political virus".

The head of Tehran's task force for combating the virus added that from tomorrow thermometer devices will be installed at the entrance and exit points of the city of Tehran which are capable of measuring 100 cars in an instant through thermal cameras.

"If a person has symptoms of fever, he or she will be prevented from entering or leaving and should return home," Zali said.

According to the latest statistics, 4339 patients from a total of 12729 cases have recovered from COVID-19 disease, caused by the novel coronavirus, all across Iran.
