Tehran (IP)- The secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council said that the prospect of an agreement in the Vienna talks has been unclear due to Washington's delay.

Iran PressIran news: Consultations are taking place at the Coburg Hotel in Vienna as part of the eighth round of Vienna talks between Iran and the P4+ 1 (Germany, France, Britain, Russia, and China) and the EU Coordinator.

The talks have progressed due to the initiative of the Iranian negotiating team, but the procrastination of the West, especially the administration of Joe Biden, to compensate for the illegal actions of the former US administration and the continuance of the campaign of maximum pressure, has cast doubt on the country's seriousness to return to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and the process of dialogue has become longer.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, as a responsible country, has repeatedly stated that, given that the United States was a party that violated the JCPOA, it should return to the agreement by lifting sanctions and verifying the fulfillment of its obligations.

"Prospect of a deal in ViennaTalks remains unclear due to Washington's delay in making a political decision." Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, tweeted today (Monday).

Shamkhani added: " Priority of Iranian negotiators is to resolve remaining issues that are considered in the red line.."

The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran concluded: "Rapid access to a strong deal requires new initiatives from all parties."

On the same day, Shamkhani, in his other tweet post, has said that the Iranian's interest would drive Iran's interactions with P4+1.

Furthermore, he has called for speeding up a solution via creative ways:

Thus, we're assessing new elements that bear on the negotiations and will accordingly seek innovative ways to expedite a resolution."
