Tehran (IP) - Appreciating Malaysia's position on the Palestinian issue, Iran's new President emphasized the need for more unity among Islamic countries against the Zionist regime.

Iran Press/Iran news: On Monday evening, in the meeting of "Dato Johari Abdul", the Speaker for the Malaysian House of Representatives, who traveled to Tehran to participate in the swearing ceremony of Iran's new President, Pezeshkian described the relations between Iran and Malaysia as friendly and fraternal.

Pezeshkian added: "We intend to make these relations stronger, and more effective in the new period and with the will of the high officials of the two countries, and by drawing the future perspective of the relations, we will take steps towards the implementation of the desired goals for the benefit of the two countries and the two nations."

Iran's President further emphasized Tehran's interest in strengthening relations with Kuala Lumpur in various commercial, economic, political, and science and technology sectors based on cultural and religious commonalities between the two nations.

Pezeshkian called the events in Gaza a clear example of genocide by the Zionist apartheid regime, and while appreciating Malaysia's firm stance in supporting the oppressed people of Palestine, he called for greater unity and cohesion of the Islamic Ummah to prevent and stop these crimes.

In this meeting, Dato Johari Abdul, the Speaker for the Malaysian House of Representatives, while congratulating the election and appointment of Dr. Pezeshkian as the president of Iran, mentioned the historical relations between the two countries based on religious and cultural cooperation, and his country's interest in developing and strengthening them. He stressed that these relations are for the benefit of not only the two countries but also the Islamic Ummah.

The Speaker for the Malaysian House of Representatives emphasized the importance of the role and position of the Islamic Republic of Iran as the axis of stability and security in the region and emphasized that today and in the sensitive conditions of the region, the Islamic Republic of Iran is a reliable support for the Islamic world, and we hope that during the period of responsibility of His Highness, he will also witness the creation of whatever role he can.
