The Iranian President, Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the shared cultural heritage of Iran and Turkmenistan as a key pillar for peace and sustainable development, while noting the richness of Eastern literature in offering new dimensions of knowledge and ethics.

Iran Press/Asia:  Speaking at the international conference "Interconnectedness of Times and Civilizations—The Foundation of Peace and Development" on Friday, which marked the 300th anniversary of the prominent Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy, Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude to the President and National Leader of Turkmenistan for inviting him and hosting the cultural event.

"In the vast political and cultural realm that Iran and Turkmenistan now occupy, once stretching from the Amu Darya to the Euphrates, and from Kashgar to Aleppo during the Seljuk era, people have long lived in peace and harmony, despite their ethnic and linguistic diversity, sharing a rich civilizational and cultural heritage," the President stated.

Pezeshkian further explained that, despite the diversity of languages, dialects, and the rise and fall of various dynasties, a largely unified cultural structure has always dominated the region. "The cultural manifestations of this vast area share such close resemblances that they can only be explained by a common underlying cultural foundation," he said.

The President underscored the close and constructive relations between Iran and Turkmenistan, stating that the friendship between the two neighboring nations has always been brotherly and built on mutual benefits.

Masoud Pezeshkian added, "The ties between our nations are growing in all areas—political, economic, and cultural."He also highlighted the deep historical, literary, and cultural connections between the people of Iran and the Central Asian region, comparing it to a prism through which light shines, illuminating the surrounding world with its splendor and vastness.

Furthermore, the President pointed to the spread of Islam through Iran and Central Asia and the cultural exchanges that, alongside linguistic affinities between Iranian ethnic groups and Central Asian communities, have enriched the shared civilization of the region.
