Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says that the expansion of relations with Turkmenistan is effective in the development of the North-South Corridor

Iran PressIran news: Masoud Pezeshkian before leaving Tehran explained the objectives of his trip to Turkmenistan at the Mehrabad airport pavilion.

According to the Iran Press news agency, the Iranian President stated this evening before leaving for Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on Thursday, October 19, that he is going to this country to participate in the 300th anniversary of the death of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy.

The President added: "Magtymguly Pyragy is an Iranian Turkmen poet who played a significant role in the creation and development of Turkmen culture. The birthplace of this famous poet is in our Golestan province, and this shows that there is a cultural connection and history between us and Turkmenistan."

The president also announced that he would meet with the presidents of Russia, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan on the sidelines of this commemoration ceremony and said: "The priority of the 14th government is to expand relations with the neighbors."

Pezeshkian stated: "The expansion of our relations with Turkmenistan has an impact on the development of the North-South Corridor."

He emphasized: "This trip is very effective on the development of economic issues, oil and gas investment, and we hope to create a good result for intimacy, empathy, and cultural communication."

He will deliver a speech at the conference "Mutual Relation between Eras and Civilizations-Basis for Peace and Development" on the occasion of the very commemoration ceremony.
