Iran Press/ Iran News: Iraj Kakavand added: "In 2022, the production of drugs in Afghanistan has reached 6,200 tons; unfortunately, the production of crystal in the country has increased with its most import to Iran."
He said: "In the first four months of this year, about 207 tons of narcotics were discovered, which is a two increase, and opium is still at the top with 156 tons."
Nearly 40 percent of Afghanistan narco trespass Iran
Kakavand stated that 35-40 percent of Afghanistan's narcotics trespass Iran.
In his July 24, 2023 press brief, Iraj Kakavand stressed: "Afghanistan is the biggest country producing narcotics."
Over cultural and religious beliefs, Iran is the country fighting narcotics, Iraj Kakavand noted.
Narcotics have created innumerable problems for people, he said.
