Moscow (IP) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has declared that the future belongs to those who pursue freedom, justice, and independence, emphasizing that colonial efforts to suppress these aspirations will ultimately fail.

Iran Press/Europe: In a meeting with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Thursday, during his visit to Russia, Pezeshkian underscored that the Iranian people’s support for internal unity and strengthened global relations, reflected in the recent presidential election, remains key to the country’s success. “Internal cohesion and fostering friendly ties with neighboring and other countries around the world are crucial pillars of power,” he said.

“Despite Israel's intentions to drag Iran into war, we exercised restraint in response to the violation of our sovereignty, focusing on advancing ceasefire negotiations. Yet, the regime has grown more brazen in its crimes against innocent and defenseless women and children,” he added.

Pezeshkian defended Iran's retelaiatory missile strikes on Israeli-occupied territories as an act of self-defense. "If Israel continues to fuel tensions and instigate war, the entire region will be engulfed in conflict," he warned, condemning Israel's aggressions.

The president went on to discuss the potential of alliances like BRICS, emphasizing that independent nations could deepen their relationships outside the scope of Western unilateralism and hegemony. “The future belongs to those who strive for freedom, justice, and independence, and colonial powers will not succeed in limiting these wills,” Pezeshkian asserted.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro echoed this sentiment, stating that a new chapter in human history has begun. He criticized Western powers for seeking to reassert their dominance through war, violence, economic pressure, and sanctions, stressing the importance of strengthening ties among independent nations such as Iran and Venezuela. “Collaboration through regional and international unions like BRICS is essential for resisting these pressures.”
