Al-Aqsa Mosque doors closed to prevent coronavirus spread

Palestine’s Quds Muslim Endowment Council declared on Sunday Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock will shut their doors until further notice, in a move to protect worshippers at Islam’s third holiest site.

Iran Press/Middle East: The Palestinian council announced in a statement that the measure was taken based on the religious and medical sources in order to prevent the outbreak of Coronavirus.

Muslim Endowment Council (Waqf) called for all Palestinians’ collaboration and empathy and observation of hygiene to pass over the global crisis.   

Palestine’s Health Ministry announced that 59 people have been infected with Coronavirus, 17 of them were recovered and discharged.

Al-Aqsa Mosque is the world's third holiest site for Muslims.
