The chairman of the Popular Committee to Break the Israeli Blockade on the Gaza Strip emphasized the need to lift the 14-year-old blockade on the Palestinian city to fight coronavirus.

Iran Press/Middle East: Jamal al-Khudari, chairman of the Popular Committee to Break the Israeli Blockade on the Gaza Strip on Friday that the US and the Israeli regime must stop their actions against the UN Relief and Work Agency for the Palestinian refugees (URWA), and other nations must abide by their financial commitments to the agency and allow financial and medical aid to Gaza for fighting Coronavirus.

He added that Gaza Strip does not have enough capabilities to fight the coronavirus, and we face 50 percent of medical supplies and equipment shortage in the strip.

Jamal al-Khudari called for increased economic and financial support and enhanced activities of international institutions in the Gaza Strip.

The number of Palestinians infected with the coronavirus has reached 48.

Meanwhile, the Israeli regime’s ministry of health announced the death case with Coronavirus in the occupied territories, saying that so far, 529 people have been identified.
