Head of the Iraqi National Alliance Seyyed Ammar al-Hakim said on Tuesday that escalating tension in the region will do nothing in solving problems or securing regional nations’ peace of mind.

In a meeting with the US Ambassador in Baghdad Douglas Silliman, he added that Iraq is moving toward stability and reconstruction but creating tensions in the region will adversely affect the trend.

He further noted that escalating tensions in the region will not help settle problems, nor will it bring peace of mind to the regional nations in terms of security and development.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and region as well as the issue of Iraqi elections.
