Iran Press/ Iran news: In a meeting with the members of Iran's caravans to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Ayatollah Khamenei thanked the medal winners, athletes, coaches and those in charge of the dispatched teams.
The Leader said: "I am very happy that once again I had the opportunity to meet a group of the dearest children of this country. Especially our dear young athletes are considered a source of honor and pride for Iran."
The Leader of the Revolution stated: "This year, there was a remarkable brilliance in both the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Although I couldn't follow all the sports and news in detail, I was able to catch up on some of the highlights whenever I had the time. Overall, this year's games were truly outstanding and very impressive."
Ayatollah Khamenei elsewhere noted: "One noticeable aspect of this year's Olympic Games was the double standards exhibited by the ruling countries on international sports issues. They really showed that double and biased policies govern their behavior. They deprive a certain government, a certain country, because in a certain place it has been entangled in a war; But the Israeli regime, which has killed thousands of children, has killed more than 41,000 people in about a year is not banned from the games."
The Leader stated: "Well, this policy is based on double standards, it is biased. This is what we always say. Some people say that sports are not political, while they do and show the most political actions in sports."
