IP - At the invitation of Vladimir Putin, the President of Iran will travel to Kazan, Russia, on Tuesday to attend the 16th BRICS summit.

Iran Press/Europe: According to an Iranian government source, Masoud Pezeshkian will attend and deliver speeches at the primary BRICS leaders' meeting on 'Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security,' the extended format meeting of BRICS members, and the inaugural BRICS Plus session on 'Building a Better World Together' during this trip.

The President will also meet with the Presidents of Russia, China, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, the Prime Minister of India, as well as several other leaders and officials attending the meetings.

The 16th BRICS Summit is scheduled to be held from October 22 to 24 in Kazan, Russia.

BRICS, or the emerging economies group, initially formed with Russia, China, India, and Brazil, and later South Africa joined. Earlier this year, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and Ethiopia were also added to the group.

Russia assumed the rotating presidency of the BRICS group for a one-year term starting January 1, 2024. Under its leadership, BRICS is set to host over 250 events covering a wide range of topics at the Kazan summit.
