Oil Minister:

Tehran (IP) - Iran's oil minister said that with the help of Iranian technical and engineering experts in Venezuela and Cuba, we restored the refining capacity of these two countries.

Iran PressIran news: According to Javad Owji, the cruel sanctions and the withdrawal of experts had reduced the refining capacity of Venezuela and Cuba.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the cabinet meeting early on Wednesday, Owji added: "So far, 2.8 million technical and engineering goods have been exported to Venezuela in oil and petrochemicals."

He pointed out a recent visit to several Latin American countries, during which good contracts were signed in the field of the Ministry of Oil.

Owji added since President Ebrahim Raisi took office, interactions with Latin America have started, and based on this, the Ministry of Petroleum has put the construction of offshore refineries on the agenda.

Stating that Venezuela had lost a large part of its refining capacity due to the cruel sanctions, the Petroleum minister said that some of these capacities had been restored with the arrival of Iranian experts in Venezuela's oil and petrochemical complexes.

Owji added oil contracts with Venezuela and Cuba are win-win contracts; of course, we are not selling our products to earn money, but we do this based on barter.
