The head of Iran's Armenian Catholic Caliphate Council, Bishop Sarkis Davidian sent a letter of congratulations to the new President-elect of the country.

Iran PressIran news: Pezeshkian, 69, was elected as the ninth president of Iran after the votes of the July 5 presidential runoff counted.

In his letter, Bishop Sarkis Davidian congratulated President Masoud Pezeshkian for becoming the president of Iran during a national poll and wished success for him in his career.

Bishop Davidian expressed hope that the new president would undergo the presidency term to construct Iran, given the critical situation of the region and the world. 

Masoud Pezeshkian, a heart surgeon, won 16,384,403 votes while Jalili stood behind him with 13,538,179 ballots.

Pezeshkian will be endorsed by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution and his presidency terms officially will be inaugurated on July 28.
