The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization met with the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, on Monday, on the sidelines of the general conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Iran PressEurope: The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency described this meeting as important by publishing a message on his X social network and wrote: "I reiterated the IAEA's willingness to engage and make concrete progress on the March 4 statement to provide credible assurances that Iran's nuclear program is exclusively peaceful."

In this meeting, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran criticized the approach of Western countries and said: "These countries are trying to use the agency's capacity to put pressure on Iran through political acts and resorting to sanctions."

He asked the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency to maintain neutrality and professionalism and not allow these countries to use the agency's reports as an excuse to put pressure on Iran.

Mohammad Eslami, a few hours ago during his speech at the agency's general conferenc, stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, as it has shown so far, adheres to its obligations based on the Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement (CSA-INFCIRC/214) and has made every effort to enable the Agency to easily continue its verification activities in Iran."

Thus, he added, Tehran seriously expects the IAEA to maintain neutrality and professionalism in its verification reports on Iran's activities, adopting a realistic approach in this regard, and close the case pertaining to a number of differences between the two sides as soon as possible.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, with the highest number of safeguards inspections over its peaceful nuclear program, has had an exemplary record of cooperation with the International Atomic Agency in this field, so it expects the case of remaining issues to be declared closed as soon as possible with the cooperation of the Agency. 219
