Head of Iranian Civil Defense Organization Brigadier-General Gholam-Reza Jalali

Tehran (IP) - An ad-hoc session was held in Iran's Civil Defense Organization to investigate the probability of a deliberate coronavirus outbreak.

Iran PressIran News: The meeting, which was attended by the Head of Iran's Civil Defense Organization Brigadier-General Gholam-Reza Jalali and a group of deputies, bio-defense camp officials and a group of experts, the latest status of the coronavirus outbreak and the provincial camps' actions against the virus were reviewed and evaluated.

Strategic investigation and analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the campaign against coronavirus were discussed during the meeting and the command structure and relationships between the executive agencies to detect the damages of the outbreak were reviewed.

All of Iran's executive agencies, especially hospitals and medical centers, are fully confronting the new virus by detecting and treating patients.

Earlier, Special Assistant to the Speaker of Parliament for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abollahian called the US as the main cause of biological warfare and the main reason behind the early understatement of COVID-19 in the country.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has warned the outbreak might be the result of a “biological attack” against the Islamic Republic.

He emphasized the need to organize these services in the form of 'health center' for preventing the further spread of the disease, highlighting: "This action could also enhance the biological defense of the military and increases national authority and capacity, given the evidence that the outbreak may have been a 'biological attack'."
