Presidents of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan stressed the need to work for comprehensive development and consolidation of Tehran-Baku relations.

Iran PressIran News: The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani had a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ilham Aliyev, congratulating the government and people of this country on the arrival of Eid al-Adha, expressing hope that all Muslims in the world enjoy the blessings of this Eid as a manifestation of the unity of Muslims.

The President of Iran, referring to the good cooperation between the two countries and the efforts of the officials to accelerate the implementation of the agreements, said: "The development of comprehensive relations with the Republic of Azerbaijan is important for Iran and I hope we will see the implementation of agreements between the two sides in various areas, especially the connection of the two countries through the Rasht-Astara railway."

Referring to Iran's successes in combating the Coronavirus crisis, Rouhani said: "We are ready to transfer experiences and expand cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan to combat this widespread disease."

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also congratulated the Iranian government and people on Eid al-Adha and praised the relations between the two countries, and said: "The Rasht-Astara railway project is very important for the Republic of Azerbaijan and this country will try to remove obstacles and problems in order to complete this project as soon as possible."

Aliyev also praised Iran's achievements in combating coronavirus disease and called for expanding cooperation between the two countries and using Iran's experience in this field.
