Iranian students gained 4 medals in World Chemistry Olympiad
Tehran (IP) -In the 52nd course of the World Chemistry Olympiad, hosted by Turkey, in July 2020, four Iranian students won one gold two silvers and one bronze medals.
Iran Press/Iran News: The 52nd World Chemistry Olympiad was hosted by Turkey on July 25, 2020, at Istanbul and held virtually, due to coronavirus outbreak restrictions, with 234 students from 60 countries competing with each other.
Mohammad Shahabuddin Daneshvar won a gold medal, Mohammad Arian Taghvaei Arabi and Ramin Asempour won silver medals, and Amir Mahboubi won bronze medals.
The ranking of the competitions and determining the position of the countries in this round of competitions will be announced next week.
Iran's Minister of Education Mohsen Haji Mirzaei, in a tweet on Friday congratulated Iranian students on winning 4 medals in the 52nd International Chemistry Olympiad.
The 51st IChO was held in Paris where the Iranian team consisted of Mostafa Moghimi won a gold medal, Ali Jahromi and Amir Reza Baheri, each received a silver medal, and Amir Ali Ahrabi won a bronze medal among participants from 80 countries.
The International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) is an annual competition for the world’s most talented chemistry students at the secondary school level.
Nations around the world send a team of four students who are tested on their chemistry knowledge and skills in a five-hour laboratory practical exam and a five-hour written theoretical examination that are held on separate days with the practical examination usually being before the theoretical examination.
