Iran Press/ Iran News: According to the Eghtesad Online news website, the United Arab Emirates, flag career landed its Boeing-777 at Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport (IKA) on July 17.
An official of the IKA said that to board the flights of Emirates, a COVID-19 PCR test result is asked from each passenger.
"Passengers have to provide a certificate confirming that they have tested negative for the novel Coronavirus from no later than 96 hours before their flight," the unnamed official at the IKA was quoted as saying.
Besides, Qatar Airways, which continued its limited flights to and from Tehran during the lockdown period, has increased the number of its weekly flights to and from Tehran as of Friday.
Qatar Airways also resumed passenger flights to the Iranian northeastern city of Mashhad since Saturday and the flights to the tourist cities of Isfahan and Shiraz as of Friday.
According to the report, Mashhad International Airport hosted Afghanistan's Kam Air jets last week. The airline is scheduled to operate directly from Kabul, Herat, and Kandahar to Mashhad. The airport monitors passengers' health, mainly through temperature checks and physical distancing measures.
Moreover, Air Arabia resumed Sharjah to Shiraz return flights earlier this month. The airline currently operates two weekly flights.
Iran announced its early COVID-19 cases on Feb. 19. Since then, the number of international flights to the country was increasingly shrunk. 221/207
