Tehran (IP) - Iran's Health Ministry confirmed 2,625 new Coronavirus infections on Tuesday, bringing the country's official number of cases to 278,827.

Iran PressIran News: Speaking at a daily press conference, the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health, Sima Sadat Lari said that the Coronavirus has taken the lives of 229 patients during the past 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 14,634.

She said: "According to the definitive laboratory findings and from yesterday to July 21 in the country, 2,625 new patients with COVID-19 were diagnosed in the country and the number of patients with this disease reached 278,827.

"1,977 of the new patients were hospitalized," she added.

"The official stated: "3,589 patients are in intensive care units."

"So far, around 2,201,958 COVID-19 diagnosis tests have been conducted in the country," the Health Ministry spokeswoman said.

According to the spokeswoman, the provinces of Khuzestan, East and West Azerbaijan, Kerman, Khorasan Razavi, Ilam, Bushehr, Zanjan, Golestan, Mazandaran, Lorestan and Fars Provinces are in the red alarm condition.  207/219
