Iran Press/ Iran news: Mohammad-Reza Rajabi-Moghaddam," the governor of Iran's Sarakhs, said that 30 Freight cars arrived in Turkmenistan from Sarakhs this morning (Thursday) carrying goods to Central Asian countries, adding that 17 wagons also entered Iran from Turkmenistan.
Referring to the delay of about 800 Freight Cars carrying export and transit goods at the Sarakhs border to enter Turkmenistan, Rajabi Moghaddam expressed hope that in the upcoming days, with the increase in rail traffic capacity at this important border, export goods will reach their destinations in Central Asia.
Sarakhs railway border was temporarily closed by the Turkmen government on April 2, with the aim of preventing the outbreak of the coronavirus.
More than one million tons of Iranian goods were exported to Central Asian countries last year (2019) via the Sarakhs railway border.
