Veteran and legendary Iranian actor, Mohammad Ali Keshavarz passes away
Tehran (IP) - Prominent Iranian actor Mohammad Ali Keshavarz, famous for his roles in Ali Hatami’s hits such as “Mother” and “Hezardastan”, passed away at the age of 90.
Keshavarz graduated from Art School for Acting. He was one of the most experienced and prominent actors of Iranian cinema. He has also appeared in a few television series.
He was one of Iran’s golden generation of actors, such as Ali Nasirian and Jamshid Mashyekhi, who began his career in acting with traditional Iranian performances.
He has so far acted in many famous hits including “Mother”, “Hezardastan”, “Kamalolmolk” and “Delshodegan” by Ali Hatami, as well as “Through the Olive Trees” by Abbas Kiarostami.
The actor also played the role of Shakkur in “Caravans”, a 1978 Iranian-American film directed by James Fargo based on the novel by James Michener. The movie was shot in Iran and the Mexican-American actor Anthony Quinn acted in the movie, playing the role of Zulffiqar.
Keshavarz donated memorabilia to the Film Museum of Iran on his 90th birthday anniversary in mid-April.
