Tehran (IP)- The Special Assistant to the Speaker of Iran's Parliament for International Affairs criticized the behavior of European countries towards the unilateral actions of the United States and other abnormal behaviors of the country in the international community.

Iran PressIran news: On Tuesday, Hossein Amir Abdullahian, during a meeting with Philippe Thiébaud, French Ambassador to Tehran said that the European countries while demonstrating their independence, must prevent unjust violations of human rights, peace and security in the world.

Referring to the outbreak of the coronavirus in the world, Amir-Abdullahian said: "Iran is successfully fighting this disease in the face of oppressive and inhumane US sanctions."

The Special Assistant to the Speaker of Iran's parliament for International Affairs also pointed to the long history of Iran-France relations adding that Iran expects France not let the enemies hinder Tehran- Paris relations so that their own interest would be served.

Amir-Abdullahian also criticized the inertness of the three European countries (France, Germany, and Britain) in fulfilling JCPOA obligations and commitments.

During the meeting, French Ambassador to Tehran Philippe Thiebaud said that Iran's role in helping to ensure stability and security in the region is important.

"France welcomes the development of friendly relations with Iran in various fields, especially parliamentary relations", he added.

Explaining France's policies in the international arena, Thiebaud said that the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron was in the context of respect for the UN Security Council.
