The former Iranian nuclear negotiator Seyyed Hossein Mousavian

Tehran (IP) - The former Iranian nuclear negotiator Seyyed Hossein Mousavian said that America's appeal to war and sanctions is a sign of weakness.

Iran PressIran news: Speaking at a video conference on the International Coalition Against War and Sanctions, Seyyed Hossein Mousavian said that Iran has been subject to the most US sanctions for 40 years. 

"The Trump administration has punished the Iranian people with the most extensive sanctions and with the aim of regime change," he added. 

Seyyed Hossein Mousavian noted that any country that wants to implement the Security Council resolution on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will be subjected to US sanctions, saying: "This is the first time in UN history that member states will be sanctioned and punished if the UN resolution is implemented."

Pointing that the Iranian people were united in the face of US sanctions, the former Iranian nuclear negotiator added: "Despite all the sanctions, the Iranian people and officials have been more successful in curbing the coronavirus than the US superpower has been."

The conference on the International Coalition Against War and Sanctions, initiated by American peacekeepers, was held through videoconferencing with the participation of 1,000 people from all over the world. 104/207
