Tehran (IP) - Iranian President extended the hand of friendship with the new parliament and said his administration will work with the new legislature within the framework of the constitution.

Iran Press/Iran News: During the inauguration ceremony of the 11th round of Iranian Parliament, President Hassan Rouhani said that "In the Islamic Consultative Assembly, from the beginning, great people sat on its seats and performed their duties. From the martyr Ayatollah Modarres and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei to Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, and other martyrs such as Martyr Rajai, Martyr Bahonar, and Martyr Chamran, they performed important legislative duties."

"The government and the parliament can cooperate in many areas, but the best cooperation is providing a good bill from the government and the review and approval by the Parliament," Iranian President added.

President Rouhani further added, "The fact that we are on the list of successful countries in the fight against the Coronavirus is due to the fact that in the current government, the foundations of treatment and health in the country were strengthened. The country's medical capacity including hospital beds and equipment has doubled since before 2013 in Iranian history."

According to President Rouhani, in the field of cyberspace, we found conditions in which we were able to easily resolve many issues through that, an example of which was that the work of the 11th parliamentary elections was based on cyberspace.

President Rouhani also noted that "The knowledge-based companies in the 11th and 12th governments witnessed a fundamental change. We have grown from 52 knowledge-based companies to more than 5,000 companies today. Their revenue in 2019 was 120,000 billion."

The new Iranian Parliament began its work on Wednesday morning with the presence of the people's elected representatives, President Rouhani, Iran’s Judiciary Chief Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, and First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri. Representatives took the oath of office during the ceremony. 101/209
