US’ stupid claims, nothing new: Zarif

Tehran (IP) - Iran’s Foreign Minister rejected the US’ claim to remain in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) under the pretext that its name is listed in the main document of JCPOA.

Iran Press/Iran News: Referring to recent the United States claims that it is listed as a member of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Mohammad Javad Zarif on Thursday told the reporters that the US’ proposing stupid claims is nothing new.

“Those (Donald Trump) who advise people to drink disinfectants to be kept clean so that they would not be infected with corona are not also unlikely to claim the membership of a deal they have withdrawn and written in an official statement that they have ended their presence in the JCPOA now to say that they are members of it,” Zarif said.

Asserting that the US allies reject such a claim on JCPOA, Zarif said that the deal has nothing to do with the US President Donald Trump and what is important is the presence of Iran and the remaining parties.

Brian Hook, the US Special Representative for Iran, recently told the Democratic candidate Joe Biden that there would be nothing left of the JCPOA for Biden to bring back the United States to it.
