Iran Press/ Europe: On Wednesday, Ali Akbar Ahmadian and Nikolai Patrushev, the secretaries of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran and Russia respectively, signed a security memorandum of understanding. This agreement is within the framework of active security diplomacy and regional security cooperation between the two countries.
The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the sidelines of the 12th International Summit of High Representatives of Countries in Security Affairs in Russia, met with participating high officials from China, Brazil and South Africa.
Ali Akbar Ahmadian held separate meetings to discuss the most important security issues of interest to the parties with the Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee of the Central Office of the Communist Party of China, the Director of the State Security Agency of South Africa and the Special Advisor to the President of Brazil.
At the St. Petersburg summit, there were also four meetings with the titles "Ensuring information security in the emerging multipolar world (threats and opportunities)", "Preserving national identity and traditional values to maintain security, peace, and international stability", "International cooperation for Dealing with illegal immigration" and "Population protection issues in military conflicts and emergencies of natural and unnatural nature."
The annual Russian security summit, which is hosted by one of the cities of this country every year, is held at the initiative of Russia to confront the unilateralism of the West, especially the United States in the realm of international security. 219
