Chief of Staff of Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri

Tehran (IP) - Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces in a telephone conversation with the Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army, voiced Iran's readiness to develop defense and economic cooperation with the Asian country.

Iran Press/Iran News: During the phone conversation on Monday evening, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Bagheri and Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army General Qamar Javed Bajwa discussed the coronavirus crisis and the security of common borders.

Major General Bagheri expressed satisfaction with the growing relations and fraternal atmosphere between the Armed Forces of the two countries, saying Iran’s Armed Forces are ready to improve relations.

He stressed the need to develop security measures at the borders and to prevent some terrorist groups and common enemies of the two nations to create problems at the borders.

Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces added: "We expect the Pakistani army to take decisive action to release three hostage border guards from the Jaish al-Zolm (Army of Injustice in Arabic) terrorist group."

During the conversation, Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army reported on engineering measures and the establishment of border barriers. 

Pointing to the growing military and defense relations between the two countries, General Qamar Javed Bajwa called for increased cooperation to maintain and stabilize border security and prevent terrorist acts at common borders.
