Iran, Pakistan sign marine security agreement

Iranian Border Guard Commander Brigadier General Ghasem Rezai and Pakistan's Maritime Security Agency's Commander Rear Admiral Zaka Ur Rehman signed an agreement on bilateral cooperation in marine security between the two neighboring countries.

Iran Press/ Asia: The agreement reached in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on Wednesday provides for joint mechanisms to uphold marine security and encounter terrorist and piracy threats.

During his current visit, the Iranian official has also met Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah as well as Pakistan Navy commanders.

In addition to a common land border, Iran and Pakistan are neighbors to the northern stretch of Gulf of Oman.
