Iran Press/ Asia: Iran's Navy Commander Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi who has taken a trip to Pakistan, in a meeting with his Pakistani Counterpart Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi, who serves as the Chief of the Naval Staff of Pakistan Navy, stressed the fact that some of the foreign governments are trying to undermine the regional capabilities in a way that could have never been activated.
Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi called for collective cooperation and vigilance of neighboring countries to foil the undermining and destabilizing measures by the enemies, stressing that the region would be safer without the presence of foreign troops.
“We believe that through strong collaboration with our eastern neighbors especially Pakistan we can ensure the security of the region especially the maritime security,” Iranian commander pointed out.
He then noted the presidency of the Iranian Navy over the Indian Ocean Naval Symposium, adding “during this term, we made a lot of efforts, and Pakistan’s cooperation has been highly effective.”
Calling the Sea as an important issue for Iran and Pakistan, Khanzadi added that Iran is so far ready to send a fleet to the Pakistani ports. In return, Zafar Mahmood while referring to the fact that Iran and Pakistan have a lot of commonalities in that the two sides possess mutual commonalities in terms of the sea route which can lead to increase in the Muslims' income in the region.
Pakistan Top commander highlighted that the existing sea route serves as a good opportunity for economic advantage and Iran can be considered as the good linking point between the East and the West.
Referring to the fact that the Iran- Pakistan naval forces can help each other in the sea, Abbasi concluded that the relationship between to navies must improve and the two sides should increase their roles in the region. 205/219
