Iran Press/ Iran news: Simultaneously with coronavirus outbreak in Iran, the disinfection process of Kish Island public transport system began on 28 February 2020, at the request of the Managing Director of Kish Free Zone Organization in Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) and according to what was approved by the Kish Island Health Council Resolution.
For this purpose, 800 taxi vehicles from five-passenger agencies based in Kish Island are disinfected daily and the drivers of these cars are tested for viruses, Iran Press reported.
The outbreak of coronavirus - known as COVID-19 - in Iran was first detected on 19 February, when health authorities in Qom confirmed the death of two elderly people as a result of the first incidence of the disease in Iran.
The Coronavirus was diagnosed for the first time in Wuhan city, in China in December 2019, and currently, apart from the country's 30 provinces, the virus has spread to at least 50 countries including US, Britain, Australia, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, Canada, France, Iran, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirate.
According to the latest reports, at least 83 thousand people have been affected by the Coronavirus in the world, of which about 36 thousand have been recovered and about 2800 others have died.
