Tehran (IP) - A South Korean expert says the reason behind building Smart Cities is that people are happier living in them, so a Smart City is a happy city for smart people.

Iran PressIran news: Lee from South Korea who represents 'WeGo' International organization which stand for World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization in an exclusive interview with Iran Press News Agency on the sideline of the third 'Smart Tehran' Congress said that Tehran is already a top-quality smart city and people are very happy.

He added that Iran possesses a rich heritage of culture, history, and technology.

Lee referred to Shooshtar city's ancient hydraulic system which is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and said: "It is a water irrigation and flood control system that dates back to the time of Darius the Great."

"What I am saying is that you have big potentiality because you are a great people," he added.

Lee said: "My definition for a smart city is a happy city for smart people. We build smart cities for two reasons. We do it because we can and we can because we are smart people Homo Sapiens (Wise Human Being)."

He added: "The second reason for building a smart city is because we want to get happier and happier and happy people can build a smart city which I call Homo Sapiens."

Lee mentioned that 190 cities and companies are members of the WeGo international organization and said the city of Shiraz (in southern Iran) is already a WeGo member.   207/211/205
