Tehran (IP) - The 38th Islamic Unity Conference will be held in Tehran from 19 to 21 September with the slogan "Islamic cooperation to achieve common values with an emphasis on the Palestine issue".

Iran Press/Iran news: Hamid Shahriari, the secretary-general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, while explaining the programs of the conference, pointed out staying away from ethnic and tribal prejudices, insulting holy values, and avoiding war.

He said that the above values will be emphasized in the upcoming International Islamic Unity Conference.

Referring to the reason for naming the conference, he said: "We need cooperation among Islamic countries to be observed in practice and lead to more ties between Islamic countries."

He emphasized: "Quds is the common heart of the Islamic world. It has been about a year since the Zionist regime martyred innocent civilians in Palestine and displaced 2 million people."

Shahriari added: "We believe that justice is the greatest value and we hope that Islamic countries will join hands and prevent killing the oppressed Palestinians."

The 38th Islamic Unity Conference will start today with the offline webinars of 234 religious scholars.

The opening ceremony of the conference will be held on Thursday with the presence of President Masoud Pezeshkian in Tehran. Three meetings will be held on the first day.

Shahriari said: "We have selected about 2,500 people out of more than 5,000 guests, and 78 of the invited people will be religious and official figures at the level of minister or deputy minister from 30 countries. 32 of these people will be attending the conference for the first time. 30 women from 30 Islamic countries will be among the guests.
