Iran Press/ America: Referring to the hostile and provocative nature of US policy toward Cuba, Takht-Ravanchi, at a special meeting of ambassadors to the Non-Aligned Movement on Wednesday, called the US policy a clear violation of international law that undermines human rights and democracy.
He also condemned the continuing unilateral US crackdown on members of the Non-Aligned Movement and violations of international rules and the UN Charter.
Iran's ambassador to the United Nations said that the United States has imposed various sanctions on some non-aligned countries over the decades, even in the tragic circumstances of the Corona pandemic, and has imposed devastating hardships on them.
Takht-Ravanchi stated: "The United States has accelerated this process by imposing severe trade sanctions, financial restrictions, freezing assets, travel bans, and other measures that have no purpose other than weakening the will and independence of countries. Iran and we have witnessed it for the last 40 years."
He also stressed the need to find better ways to take decisive action against US pressure on others and to violate international law and UN resolutions.
