Tehran (IP) - Iranian foreign minister stressed the need to reopen Iran-Azerbaijan Republic land border and Tehran's readiness to expand economic and energy relations with Baku, and an increase in the number of flights between the two sides.

Iran PressIran News: According to Iran press, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Azerbaijan Republic Foreign Minister Ceyhun Bayramov discussed the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries and regional developments over the phone.

In this conversation, while commemorating the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Amir-Abdollahian said: "Relations between the two countries have now reached a stage of progress."

Referring to the developments in the South Caucasus region, he said that the common goal of the two countries is stability and peace in that region and expressed hope that the remaining issues between the two countries, the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia, will be resolved with foresight and without foreign intervention.

Referring to the holding of a joint Iran-Azerbaijan Republic Economic Commission in the near future, Amir-Abdollahian stressed the seriousness of the Iranian side to achieve positive results from this commission.

In this telephone conversation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation in recent months and welcomed the holding of a joint economic commission of the two countries, referring to the 30th anniversary of Tehran-Baku relations, describing level of bilateral relations as the growing one.

Referring to the visit of the Minister of Roads of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Baku, Jeyhun Bayramov described it as a sign of good relations between the two neighboring countries and stressed his country's full readiness for the implementation of economic agreements.
