Azerbaijan (IP) - Iran's Foreign Minister says the development of Tehran-Baku ties for more cooperation has a specified roadmap.

Iran PressAsia: Holding a joint press conference with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Tehran's policy was to develop cooperation with the neighboring countries, one of the most important of which was the Republic of Azerbaijan.

"Today, the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran is present in Baku to strengthen and develop relations and offer their ideas; we hope to see a change and progress in the relations between the two countries," foreign minister Amir-Abdollahain said.

The Iranian foreign minister pointed to the 3+3 platform project and expressed hope that Georgia would join the platform.

Referring to the close ties between Iran and Azerbaijan in recent months, Amir-Abdollahian noted that misunderstandings were removed during meetings and telephone calls.

There again he reiterated that the region's countries could solve their problems themselves and needed no foreign intervention.

The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in Baku for a one-day visit, during which he was also scheduled to meet with his Azerbaijani counterpart and the Speaker of the country's Parliament.
