Iran Press/ Asia: Nur-Sultan of Kazakhstan hosts religious leaders and traditional religions of 60 countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In an interview with Iran Press' reporter in Nur-Sultan of Kazakhstan, Hojjatoleslam Hamid Shahriari stated that Iran, as a leading country in the Islamic world, uses common and rational concepts to strengthen world peace.
He said Iran should be able to show that it is one of the leading countries supporting peace in the world, and it should be explained that the religion of Islam is not a religion of violence.
He noted that Iran believes unity in the Islamic world and other divine religions should be pursued through peaceful coexistence.
The secretary-general of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought pointed out that the plan followed by the West called ISIS was the false face of Islam, and six security organizations of the world created ISIS to depict Islam as violent.
He reiterated that the reality is that Islam is a religion of mercy and compassion and respects all faiths and whoever is not at war with Islam accepts all religions.
Shahriari noted that peaceful coexistence in Iran is not only for different Islamic schools of thought but also for Christian, Jewish, and other religions.
He said that it is necessary to pursue world peace and security through rational methods, and the presence of colonialism among religions should be prevented so that it does not abuse the existence of some religious differences.
Religious leaders and traditional religions of 60 countries will gather in the form of 130 religious, political and cultural delegations to participate in the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions from today (Wednesday) in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.
