Adnan al-Assadi, Iraqi MP

The representative for Iraq’s parliamentary coalition of Law Government, affiliated with Nouri al-Maliki, stressed that US-led strikes on Friday are a blatant violation of Iraqi national sovereignty.

Iran PressMiddle East: In a Twitter post, Adnan al-Assadi called for an increase of protests over the deportation of US troops from Iraq after targeting a number of military Iraqi bases.

He said the US attacks on the Popular Mobilization Unit’s (Hashd al Shaabi) headquarters, military, police, and Karbala airports are blatant aggression on the Iraqi nation and territory and a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty.

“Those interested in Iraq and its sovereignty should condemn the attack and loudly demand the deportation of the US troops from the country,” al-Assadi stressed.

Meanwhile, the president of Sadeqoon Coalition, Na’eem al-Oboudi, condemned the US bombardment of the Iraqi armed forces.

He also wrote in a tweet: “the US can kill innocent people and destroy our facilities, but it can no longer remain in the land for a long time.”.

Iraqi media sources said Friday morning that the US fighter jets attacked on al-Hashed al-Sha’abi (PMU) bases in four Iraqi regions, killing three and wounding seven.

The US claims that its raids are in response to the attacks on al-Taji base home to the so-called US-led international coalition.
