The Iraqi army rejected claims by US officials that Iraqi soldiers were killed in a recent Iranian missile strike against a US airbase in Iraq.

Iran Press/Middle East: In a statement, the Iraqi army rejected claims by US officials that Iraqi soldiers were killed in the recent Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) retaliatory raid on a US airbase in Iraq.

The US has claimed there were no American casualties in Wednesday's missile attack on Iraq's Ain al-Assad airbase, with only a few Iraqi military personnel being killed in the missile strike.

IRGC has confirmed that it has hit US Ain al-Assad airbase in Iraq with tens of missiles.

An informed source within Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said that the missiles fired at a US base left 80 US troops dead and around 200 injured.

General Qassem Soleimani was invited to Baghdad by Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi to discuss Iran-Saudi Arabia relations but was martyred in a US airstrike immediately after his arrival at Baghdad International Airport.
