Iraqi police said it has arrested a person who fired live rounds at both the protesters and police, killing and injuring both protesters and police officers.

Iran Press/Middle East: Iraqi media outlets associated with Iraq's security forces have reported the arrest of a man who was carrying a gun and was firing live rounds at both Iraqi protesters and police officers, causing bloodshed and hoping to spread violence among Iraqi protesters.

According to Iraqi media reports, the man was arrested in Sa'doun street, near al-Nasr Square, in central Baghdad, and was taken into custody at the headquarters of the security forces in Baghdad.

The arrest comes just a few days after another armed gunman was caught among protesters firing live rounds at Iraqi anti-riot police. The gunman was arrested near the Al-Jomhouriyeh Bridge in Baghdad.

Also, video footage of an armed man in plain clothes using a gun to fire at demonstrators and protesters has gone viral in several Iraqi social media sites.

Iraq has been rocked by angry and violent protests for the past few weeks. The protesters are dissatisfied with inadequate public services, a lack of job opportunities particularly for young people, and widespread bureaucratic corruption. 101/211
