Iran Press/ Asia: Referring to the special position of Persian poetry and literature, especially Ferdowsi's Shahnameh in Turkey, Qasem Nazemi, Iran's cultural attache in Turkey, said that the works of great Persian poets, including Ferdowsi's Shahnameh, have been translated into Turkish and reprinted many times.
He added that we are trying to take more measures to spread Persian culture and literature with the cooperation of other Persian-speaking countries such as Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
Bakhtiar Abdul Ghafarzadeh, Chargé d'Affaires of the Tajik Embassy in Türkiye, and Homayoun Khairi, President of the Afghanistan Pen Association, delivered speeches at the event.
Adnan Kara-Ismailoglu, a professor of the Persian language at Turkish universities, referred to the Iranian poet as the originator of the Persian language and literature.
He stated that a thousand years ago, Ferdowsi wrote the valuable Shahnameh, which captured the interest of people familiar with the Persian language in literature in Turkey.
May 15 is considered a significant cultural event for Iranians, in which they commemorate the great Persian poet Ferdowsi and celebrate Persian Language Day.
