London (IP) - University students at Queen Mary University London (QMUL), in the east end of the British capital, have become yet another student group launching an encampment on campus in solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Iran PressEurope: Organizers of the new student encampment echo the similar sentiments of hundreds of fellow student protestors across Britain, Europe, and the United States, demanding that their universities divest from Israeli companies and arms manufacturers, complicit in the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

In a statement, protest organizers stated, “More than 200 days into the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza and 76 years into the colonization of Palestine, the time for institutional accountability is long overdue. As Queen Mary, along with other universities, shamelessly aid the military-industrial complex and uphold the colonial interests of the UK government, we will not comply or sit idle.”

Elsewhere around the United Kingdom, students have set up similar encampments on their campuses with the same demands, at University College London (UCL), the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), King’s College London (KCL), Oxford, Cambridge, the University of Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, and several other universities.
