Damascus (IP) - On the occasion of the commemoration day of Abolqasem Ferdowsi, a literary and poetic symposium was held at the Iranian Cultural Center in Damascus, the capital of Syria.

Iran Press/West Asia: At a literary and poetic symposium titled "Ferdosi Revival of the Persian Language," Iranian and Syrian poets and researchers analyzed the work of Ferdowsi and recited his masterpiece "Shahnameh."Iranian and Syrian Persian language professors view Ferdowsi's Shahnameh as a crucial piece of world literature.

It played a significant role in preserving Persian culture and literature. The researchers and scholars emphasized that Shahnameh had an eternal impact on Iranian culture. They considered Ferdowsi's masterpiece an excellent example of the aesthetics of the Persian language.

Faras Rajouh, a researcher of Arabic literature and a Ferdowsi scholar in Syria, told Iran Press reporter in Damascus that Persian Language Day is to show the importance of the beauty of Persian poetry and give meaning to literary and poetic words.

Calligraphers displayed their works, including some of the great Iranian poet's most important, beautiful, and meaningful poems, alongside the symposium.  May 15 is considered a significant cultural event for Iranians, in which they commemorate the great Persian poet Ferdowsi and celebrate Persian Language Day. 219
